Corporate Race Night for 190 Guests

 For an event of this size we would recommend having the players compete in teams or more suitably as tables, assuming 19 tables of ten we would propose a Five Race Event with four restricted (maximum bet size) races and a Grand Final - The Glasgow Gold Cup etc where betting is unrestricted and huge bets can be placed.

 Each table will begin the evening with ten Race Cards (with instructions and rules) and a set amount of Fun Money and a Scrap Pad and Pen.

 Time will be of the essence and to this end we will need to ensure that the guests are occupied throughout the duration of the event and that bets are placed quickly and payouts made in a similar fashion.

 I recommend six tote operatives, each will attend 3-4 tables and each will take the bets from those tables and issue the betting slips (we have a unique high speed betting slip for this purpose), collect the stakes and return at the end of each race to pay out the winnings.

Between races the tables will be invited to take part in a light hearted 'horsey' quiz, they will provide answers using the scrap pad (the tote sellers will collect these) and there is a fun money charge for each answer submitted, correct answers are rewarded with more fun money and incorrect answers will will be penalised, we will keep the entry money. The questions are short and the questions are punchy, funny and sure to result in a few groans and debates as well as inevitable cheers and air punching etc.

We are playing for Fun Money and trying to find the table or tables with the most at the end of the evening so a prize that can be divided amongst ten players is advisable.

The compere will explain how to play, ask the questions and run the evening and a seventh senior tote seller will oversee the six tote sellers and the calculation of the payouts, manage and keep the evening on track etc, five races will take between 90 minutes and two hours to complete, depending on how fast you wish the evening to last and how tired the guests are, we will be happy to discuss this in more detail when we know client preferences.

 Races, all of our Race Software is in standard DVD format, digitally originated the picture and audio quality are superb, the races are chosen for their excitement and close finishes, a professional (Channel Four presenter) commentary accompanies each race as does and on screen leading places display at the foot of the screen, at the end of the race an official placings board is shown to preclude any debate (some of the races are very close photo finishes).

 For Corporate Race Nights we offer a choice of two different ways of calculating the payouts, two Giant Foam Dice are the most fun and included in the standard pack but a 6' tall Wheel of Fortune is more visible for players at the back of the room.

 In a nutshell:

Teams are issued with humorous race cards and fun money, for the first four races teams are able to back up to $500 (fun money) on any single horse in each race, they are able to back up to three horses in each race. Tote sellers will go to the tables to collect the bets and issue the betting slips, a guest will be asked to select a race DVD at random, the compere will show the race. The compere will ask a team with a winning ticket to send a volunteer to throw the dice or spin the wheel to settle the odds, if that guest throws 2 x 6s we will award 12/1, if they throw a 3 and a 2 we will award 5/1, 2 x1s pays 2/1 etc. The Wheel of Fortune is marked with 2/1 payouts, 5/1 payouts and 10/1 jackpot payouts. Once the odds are settled the compere will ask the tables with winning tickets to wave them in the air and the tote sellers will return to make the appropriate payout. For the final race the tables are still restricted to three horses but they will be able to bet as much as they like on each of those horses. Once the racing is completed the compere will arrange for the tote sellers to return to the tables and to collect the fun money and find out who the highest scoring tables are, a prize or prizes can then be awarded.
